Project
LoLA has evolved through the growth of individual artists that have had
breakthroughs since 1997. Word of mouth has resulted in corporate interest
with a keen desire to experiment with the creative process.
Coty
Inc. New York / London
Vision By Design
Coty
inc New York / London had commissioned project LoLA to create the setting
in London for a six day conference for their marketing personel from
Europe
and NewYork. LoLA was briefed on the Coty" vision". The chosen
venue was the Institution of Contemporary Art to the left of Buckingham
Palace. The inspiration for the setting had to be simply to support "Vision".
Project LoLA commissioned artists to create furniture for five set designs
portraying all that you "see" above, below, to the right, to
the left and from within.
By
applying nature, science and art, a sensory environment was created for
each and every individual to experience. The intention of establishing
a nurturing, trusting, fun way of seating; it succeeded in breaking
the
ice for delegates that were strangers to each other. They were able to
communicate in teams but most importantly it was a human event. The
company
had encouraged them to experience something unique and personal that
triggered the individual´s imagination and ignited a creative
process that might be more difficult to tune into in familiar (boardroom)
or conventional
surroundings. LoLA encouraged Coty to support
the work as the exhibition "Vision by Design". Featured artists
were Chris Levine, Holograms & Lazer, Chris Tanner Furniture Design,
Rock Galpin Furniture Design, Thea Fern Nicole, Textiles and James D
Shaw - Graffiti and the written word.
Rimmel
/ London
Campaign
Rimmel was losing its grip in the market competing with
the new designer labels. They were interested in LoLA because of its
focus on London. Rimmel
needed a strategy to rethink, revive and reclaim a young, edgy London
image for their brand. Project LoLA presented to J Walter Thompson,
their
advertising agency and the British and European marketing teams then
finally the creative division from New York. LoLA translated the moment,
the heart
and the pulse of London culture with stories, clubs, language and grafitti.
Interviews with young people, artists and their interests etc. The
new Rimmel London campaign was launched in 2001 and the cultivated
message behind the brand is represented by the face of Kate Moss.
Rimmel
is now retailed in stores throughout the United States.
